Client Reveal: #TheRossdaleRez

Well hello everyone, it’s a new week, a new month and it’s time for us to reveal a new Kresswell project that we just ADORE! Introducing…. #TheRossdaleRez

We absolutely loved working on this project. Our clients are a really fun young couple who have fabulous taste, a beautiful home and an awesome art collection. Their home was already stunning but they wanted to see a bit more personality injected into their spaces so, personality is what we gave them!

This project took us from their outdoor rooftop patio all the way to their basement bar but one of the first spaces we tackled their upstairs powder room. The powder room was a clean slate as a builder basic modern powder room and while there was nothing wrong with it, it was just lacking the wow factor our clients wanted to see.

To do bring in that ‘wow’ factor we chose a modern graphic wallpaper, a new light fixture and bathroom hardware. These are small changes that don’t have to break your budget but they can make a HUGE difference in a room that has great bones but just needs some extra style. We also swapped out the heavy rectangular mirror for a sleek round mirror and we love the contrast of the curved line against all of the straight lines in the light fixture and wallpaper. Lastly, we added some posters with a bit of attitude which of course, we love.

The next room we wanted to focus on was the loft area. This is a great multipurpose space but we wanted it to be a comfortable cozy room to watch tv and relax as well as entertain in. A bold blue wall adds some pop and becomes a dramatic backdrop for some of this couple’s great artwork. We were able to incorporate some of our client’s existing furniture and artwork into this room but we brought in a new sectional, accent chair, tv cabinet (how fabulous is this brass unit?!) and area rug to up the cozy factor.

When we completed the changes to the upstairs level, our clients wanted to bring that same style to their main floor and downstairs too. The next space we tackled was another powder room. Much like the upstairs powder room, there was nothing wrong with this room but it lacked the personality that we were beginning to add to the rest of the house. We fell in love with this stunning wallpaper which makes such a huge impact in this space!

A few little accessories, a new light and a portrait of their sweet dog helped turn this room into the gorgeous powder room you now see!

Lastly, the final space we wanted to share was their beautiful and dramatic basement bar. While the previous homeowner had roughed in plumbing for a wet bar, the work was never finished, leaving a blank slate for us to come in and add a functional wet bar for this couple who loves to entertain and spend time in their basement.

BEFORE

As you can see, when we say we were working with a blank slate - we really meant blank slate. Our inspiration for this project was actually the kitchen we designed at The Oliver Escape. Our clients fell in love with the dramatic black kitchen we did at that space and wanted to recreate a similar space with a similar vibe for their wet bar. So using that as our inspiration, we got to work designing!

Our clients wanted drama so drama we gave them! We opted for matte black cabinetry with walnut accents through the use of floating shelves and a walnut waterfall bar top to act as a table. Geometric tiles and hex hardware add some funkiness and to bring in a pop of the unexpected, velvet barstools add softness and color. We love this great space that’s not only functional but looks incredible too!
